I had the pleasure of meeting Girl Scouts in Alpena on Tuesday. They had a Girl Scout Rededication and Parade of Flags in honor of United Nations Day. Afterward, I trained the troop to participate in a brand new program for our Fall Sale- Creative Funding Opportunity, (CFO Program). The older girls will market high quality nuts and candy to businesses. They develop their own business plan from making business cards, developing a marketing plan and presentation skills. The girls were very enthusiastic about the program!
I was so impressed with the troops in Alpena. They have a lot going on! This Sunday, Girl Scouts are celebrating Juliette Lowe's birthday with a big Birthday party; complete with halloween costumes, cupcake decorating, crafts, singing and games. Throughout the year, they have everything planned from scavenger hunts, a bowling party to a Pink Breast Cancer awareness walk in honor of Juiliette Low.
Way to go, girls! I know you will have another wonderful year!
